Why do boys have less problems to face than girls?

Growing up

This is such an interesting question – and one that a lot of people wonder about!

It can sometimes feel like girls have more to deal with, especially during puberty – things like periods, breast development, and pressure around body image can be a lot.

And it’s true that girls often face these changes earlier, which can make things feel extra overwhelming.

That said, all genders go through challenges – they just sometimes look different.

For example, boys might struggle with things like delayed development, voice changes, or pressure to be tall, strong or emotionless.

Social media and society can also put different expectations on boys and girls – and that can affect everyone in tough ways.

The most important thing is to be kind to yourself and others.

If you ever feel upset or overwhelmed by any of this, talking to a trusted adult can really help – even just getting your thoughts out loud can make them easier to understand 💬

Puberty isn’t always easy – but you’re not alone in it. That’s exactly why luna exists: to help make things clearer and more empowering, especially for girls and anyone going through puberty 🫶
