Hey luna, I’m 11 and I’m starting high school in September and I’m very insecure about my weight and get picked on for it I’ve tried everything to lose weight and it doesn’t work and I don’t want this to continue at high school.
Hi hi 💛 really sorry to hear you're going through this - people's comments can be really hurtful.
luna's got lots of advice about feeling your best in the Learn section of the app to help you out! It's so much easier said than done, but please try to ignore the comments others are making. It says more about them than it does about you ❤️
What luna would suggest is that you reach out to a trusted adult (like a teacher, parent/carer or school safeguarding rep) to get help on managing this – there's a lot they'll be able to do to make you feel happier at school 💕
As you mentioned weight, it's important to remember that "gaining weight" is sometimes portrayed as a negative thing – actually, when you're a teenager, gaining weight throughout puberty is normal and an important part of growing up ✨
For this reason, luna does NOT recommend losing weight unless you are overweight. If you are overweight, having a well-balanced diet can help you lose weight – doing this in combination with healthy amounts of exercise is usually a good idea (more on this below).
When it comes to your body, it's so important to treat it with the love it deserves. Our bodies are amazing, and you shouldn't let anything anyone says, or anything you see on social media, change your mind about that! 🌟
