Why do my teachers seem to not care about mental health and who can i talk ti about my mental health
Hey 🩷 Thanks so much for your question – it’s a really important one.
Sometimes it can feel like teachers don’t care about mental health, especially if they seem busy or don’t pick up on how you're feeling.
But often, it’s not that they don’t care – they might just not know what’s going on, or they might not know how best to help.
Teachers are juggling a lot, and sometimes they might miss things without meaning to.
That said, your mental health matters, and it’s so important to talk to someone if you're struggling.
👉 You could try speaking to a trusted adult at school, like a pastoral care teacher, school counsellor, or a different teacher you feel comfortable with
👉 If you're not sure how to start the conversation, you could write things down or practise what you want to say beforehand
👉 You can also talk to someone at home, like a parent or carer – even if it feels hard at first, they might be more understanding than you expect
If you'd rather speak to someone outside of school or home, there are confidential helplines you can try:
- Shout: text SHOUT to 85258 any time, for free
- Childline: call 0800 1111 or chat online
- Mind: call 0300 123 3393 for advice and support
You deserve support, and you’re never alone in this.
Hope this helps – and luna’s always here to guide you too 🌙✨
