is it normal for a girl not to shed skin
Hey! Such a great question.
So you might’ve seen videos claiming that people “shed their skin” during their period – but that’s 100% a myth.
It actually started as an inside joke to trick people who don’t get periods 😬 but has ended up confusing a lot of people who are new to periods too.
📱 Social media isn’t always reliable: even though it can be funny or creative, it’s also full of misinformation that’s not always checked
🩸 You don’t shed your skin during your period: what happens is that your uterus lining is released – and that’s what a period is!
😶🌫️ Those videos use peel-off face masks: some people apply a clear face mask and peel it off on camera to make it look like they’re shedding skin – but it’s just a skincare product, not real skin
😅 Don’t feel bad if you believed it: if you haven’t started your period yet or are still learning about it, it’s completely normal to feel unsure – that’s why luna's here
