Why haven’t I gotten my first period yet

Periods & hormones

Hi 🦋 Please try not to worry – your body will start your period when it’s ready.

Most people get their first period between the ages of 8 and 17, usually around two years after signs of puberty begin (like breast development or underarm hair).

Here’s what to keep in mind:

👉 Everyone’s timeline is different – starting earlier or later than your friends/family members is totally normal

👉 If you’re 15 and haven’t had your period yet, or 13 with no signs of puberty, luna recommends having a chat with your doctor just to check everything’s developing as expected

👉 You can’t make your period come faster – but learning about what to expect using luna can help you feel more prepared when it does 💫

It’s also very normal to feel left out if friends have started theirs – but your body is doing its own thing at its own pace, and that’s completely okay 💛
