Emojis to use and their meanings:
- π (skull): typically to indicates being "dead from laughter" βΒ not recommend for parents to use, considered cringe
- π₯ (fire): impressive, attractive, or related to karma
- π€ (face with hand over mouth): mischief, amusement, or being cheeky
- π (crying face): funny, to indicate laughing hard
- π«£ (peeping eye): when saying something slightly embarrassing or niche e.g.Β βis it just me whoβ¦β
- πΒ (pensive face): showing sympathy or sadness
- πΒ (face savouring food) = excitement
- π (face with tongue) = excitement
- π (squinting face with tongue) = excitement
- π€£ (side crying with laughter): when something is funny
- π₯² (crying smiley): when saying something that slightly bothers you
- π«Ά (heart hands): empathy, care, or affection
- β€οΈβπ©Ή (mending heart): a sympathetic emoji for offering support
- π (see-no-evil monkey): used in a flirtatious or playful context
- π―οΈ (candle) = when manifesting / hoping for something
- π (new moon): to convey when youβre being a bit rude or sarcastic
- ππΒ (pointed fingers): feeling shy
- π€² (open hands): a gesture of asking or requesting
- πΉ (monster face): feeling weird or freaky
- πππ (eye, mouth, eye): watching with interest, total focus
- π§ (waffle): used in slang as "stop waffling" (stop talking nonsense)
- π (eyes): side-eye or looking suspiciously, more sarcastic than interested
- π€ (nerdy face): to indicate an "erm, actually" moment, often used sarcastically
- π₯΅ (hot face): used to express attraction or being impressed by someone
Emojis to avoid and their meanings:
- π₯Ή (pleading face): considered cringe and βbeggyβ in certain contexts
- π₯΄ (woozy face): cringe in specific situations
- π (nail polish): while often used for βslay,β it's losing its popularity and can come across as outdated
- π³ (flushed face): may be used too dramatically, making it over the top
- β€οΈΒ (red heart): not terrible, but teens prefer π«Ά
- πΒ (thumbs up): considered old fashioned, not cool
