Thank you for sharing this – what you’re feeling is so valid 💛

It’s really common to feel a bit low after something exciting has ended, like prom or a holiday.

You build it up in your mind, and then once it’s over, it’s easy to feel stuck or like summer isn’t turning out how you’d hoped

You’re also not alone in feeling like you “should” be doing more – but there’s no rule that says being home means you’re not doing enough or don’t have friends.

Sometimes plans just don’t come together, and that doesn’t mean anything bad about you.

Here are a few ideas that might help shift things:

🎨 Try something creative at home: whether it’s drawing, writing, baking, or learning a new skill online – it’s something that’s just for you, and it can help break up the days

🌳 Look into free stuff locally: check out your local library, park, or community centre – they sometimes have events or spaces to hang out

📱 Reconnect with someone: even a simple message like “hey, how’s your summer been?” can start something and a park hangout or movie night at home doesn’t need money to be fun

💬 Talk to your parents: this one’s hard, especially if you’re worried about what they think, but it might help to say something like, “I’ve been feeling a bit stuck this summer, and I’m not sure what to do”; you might be surprised by how much they just want to support you

🧠 Let yourself rest: being at home isn’t failing – it’s okay to slow down and reset, especially after a high-energy time like prom or holiday travel

This stage of summer can feel weird, but it doesn’t mean you’re wasting it or doing anything wrong.

You’re already doing something by reflecting on how you feel and reaching out 🫶
