Periods & hormones

Hey 💖 That sounds like a frustrating situation, especially when you're on your period – it’s totally understandable that you'd need to step out.

👉 If you're comfortable, try having a quiet word with your teacher before or after class to explain that you sometimes need to go to the toilet during lessons for period reasons – most teachers will understand once they know

👉 If you're not ready to talk to the teacher yourself, you could ask a parent or carer to help start that conversation with school

👉 You can also plan ahead when possible by using break times to check and change your pad, just in case

👉 And don’t forget to keep a little kit in your bag – having pads, spare pants, and wipes can help you feel more in control if there’s a delay getting to the toilet

If it’s happening a lot and it’s making you feel stressed or anxious, it’s totally okay to speak to someone at home or in school about how to make it easier, they will want to support you 💛
