All my friends at school use social media and I don’t agree with social media and so do my parents. But sometimes I feel left out and like I don’t belong because all anyone talks about is TikTok or Snapchat. And everyone spends ages making themselves look pretty in the morning, that sometimes i feel as if I should too because LOADS of people always straighten their hair and wear mascara etc. But I don’t rlly know who I want to be and what to be like and how to deal with everyone constantly talking about social media.

Relationships

Hey - thanks for coming to luna 💛

It can be really hard when you feel like you don't fit in with your friends, but it's important to remember that you don't have to do anything you don't want to do – even if everyone else is doing it!

If you don't agree with being on social media, that's 100% okay! You can still have fun, express yourself, and make friends without it.

Social media can also be pretty damaging to our wellbeing, and though it can be a source of fun and inspiration, it can also give us some unrealistic expectations of how we should look and act (not to mention the misinformation on there) so it can be good to not overuse it.

As for feeling like you need to look a certain way, it's important to remember that you are beautiful as you are – it's understandable that you'd feel this way as everyone around you is doing a different thing, but you don't need to change anything about yourself to fit in or be liked by others ✨ Just try not to judge others for wanting to dress up or style themselves a certain way – everyone has different ways of being and that's what makes it so fun!

For now, just do what makes you happy. Find styles, hobbies and entertainment that you enjoy and don't pay attention to what others think!

And as for everyone constantly talking about social media, try to find other things to talk about that you're interested in as well – you could redirect the conversation to fun facts, news stories, books or hobbies. There's so much more to life than just social media, so don't be afraid to share that with others 🌟

Remember: you're still young and you have plenty of time to figure out who you are!
