Is it normal to have a teacher attachment
Hey 🦋 This is a really good question! And yes, it is normal to feel attached to a teacher.
Teachers are often there for us through some of the most confusing or emotional moments at school.
So if one of them makes you feel safe, supported, or seen, it makes total sense to feel a strong connection to them.
👉 Some people feel close to a teacher who listens without judgement or encourages them during tough times
👉 Others may rely on that teacher more when things at home or with friends feel difficult
👉 And sometimes it just feels nice to know that someone gets you even if you’re not sure why
It’s totally okay to feel this way, and it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you or your friendships or family. But it is important to keep balance:
👉 Try not to rely on one teacher as your only emotional support – friendships, family, school counsellors or apps like luna can help too
👉 If you're really anxious when they're not around, or it feels hard to focus without them, it might help to talk to a trusted adult or the school wellbeing team
👉 Teachers are there to help you learn and feel safe, but they also have boundaries, and it’s okay to respect those while still appreciating what they give
