And because so many teens don’t know what really happens at a fitting, lots of them put it off because they think it’ll be awkward, too personal, or even embarrassing.
In fact, a recent 2025 poll by us at luna found that 73% of teens had never had a bra fitting.

So, here's how to instil confidence in them.
Start with a virtual fitting
The good news? Your teen doesn't even need to head into a shop to get fitted anymore!

Explain what really happens during a bra fitting
Many teens worry that a bra fitting will be awkward or too personal, so explaining how the process is actually pretty relaxed may help.
Here’s what usually happens in a virtual first bra fitting:
- Before the fitting, you or your teen need to take rib and bust measurements
- You and your teen join the fitting online together over Microsoft Teams or Zoom, so you can use a laptop, tablet, or mobile
- Your teen doesn't need to be nude – they can wear a bra or a vest
- The fitting expert will talk through measurements, give personalised recommendations, and answer any questions you both have – all in a private, confidential session
- Once your teen knows their size and shape, the fitter can help them pick out the best sports bras for their body and activity – they can even place the order for you during the call, or you can order online afterwards
