Latley, since starting high school, I've been feeling like really upset, but usually, for absolutely no reason. I'll just randomly start crying almost every day over the tiniest thing or nothing at all, and I'm getting concerned about my mental health cause it's a little too often. Is it normal?

Mental health & wellbeing

Hi 🫶 First off, you're really not alone in feeling like this – starting high school can be a big change, and it's completely normal for your emotions to feel all over the place at times.

But if you're crying almost every day and it's starting to worry you, it’s a good idea to take that seriously 💛

Sometimes during puberty, emotions can feel super intense – small things suddenly feel massive, or you might cry without knowing why.

Hormones play a part, but it can also be a sign that you're overwhelmed or just holding in a lot.

Here are a few things you can try:

👉 Keep track of when you're feeling low – you might notice certain patterns or triggers

👉 Find ways to let it out – things like journaling, listening to music, walking, or talking to someone can really help

👉 Talk to someone you trust – a parent, teacher, or school counsellor can support you and might be able to help you figure out what’s going on

👉 Be kind to yourself – feeling like this doesn’t mean anything is "wrong" with you, but it does mean you might need a bit of extra support right now

If you’re feeling sad more often than not, or the crying is happening nearly every day, luna would really recommend speaking to your doctor. They can check in on how you're doing and offer advice that’s just for you 🩷
