Heya, the truth behind period syncing is a little different from the TikTok theory ✨
There’s extremely little evidence that being emotionally or physically close to someone makes your periods match up.
The idea came from research in the 1970s about pheromones, which are chemicals people naturally give off, but period syncing now appears to be a myth.
If your periods start around the same time, it’s likely just a funny coincidence, and there’s no expectation that they should sync 💛
